Bringing the Viking Clans Home
Ice Breaker: The Gathering is a puzzle game about rescuing Vikings from large frozen structures and strange machines. The trapped warriors need to reach the Head Jarl’s longboat. The player must cut ice, ropes, and other parts of the level to create a safe route toward the ship.
The mouse controls each cut. Click on one side of a piece of ice, drag across it, and release the mouse button. The line separates the object into new pieces. Gravity then pulls the loose sections downward.
A straight cut can make a Viking slide. A sloped cut can create a ramp. A small piece of ice may need to remain attached because it supports a rope, wheel, or moving platform.
Bombs, Stones, and Moving Machines
Ice Breaker: The Gathering adds many objects beyond frozen blocks. Bombs can destroy ice, stone, and wood. Players activate them with the same slicing action used for other parts of the puzzle. A bomb placed in the wrong area can also harm a Viking.
The levels use wheels, hinges, ropes, rocks, switches, moving trays, flames, and hanging objects. One cut may start a chain of events. A falling stone can turn a wheel. The wheel may move a platform that carries a Viking toward the boat.
Timing becomes important when objects swing or move. Cutting a rope one second too early may send the warrior into the sea. Waiting for a platform to reach the correct position creates a safer landing.
Solving Each Clan’s Puzzles
The game arranges its stages into Viking clans. Each clan contains eight levels with its own group of mechanical challenges.
Before making the first cut, check every object. Look for ropes that hold bombs, weak parts of ice, and paths that lead toward the ship. A cut cannot always be reversed, so planning saves many restarts.
Ice Breaker: The Gathering rewards creative solutions. A level may look impossible until a piece of ice becomes a bridge or a falling bomb opens a route. The goal always stays clear. Free the Vikings and return them safely to the longboat.
